This incredible piece of land will become the site of our new home on the Pacific Coast.

After almost 16 months of delays, complications and disappointments we were back on track.  We finally closed on our construction loan on 22 January 2010.  The footer and slab were poured on 8 February 2010.  The first of the foundation blocks were laid 11 February 2010.  Winter is clearly not the best time to be building on the Oregon Coast and we have had some additional delays and set backs.

This weather summary goes back to 1963.  The average rainfall for the month of May is 3.43 inches.  In May 2010 our town had well over 4 times that much rain in May.  Because of weather (rain and wind) and fabrication delays we lost over 7 weeks of construction time.  So far June has been warm and sunny.  We hope this continues until the house is closed in.
